Assistive Technologies (also known as AT) allow their users to act, participate and experience a wide range of social services that are denied to them because of their disability. Generally, these are technologies that make content accessible for those who need it.

Assistive technologies can be found at the bank counter, in the public restrooms at the mall, on websites and even at the entrances to many businesses.

In the section of web accessibility, assistive technologies are used as screen readers, accessibility menus, skip links, speech inputs and more.
